Functions of the individual components:

Coenzyme Q10 is present on the inner membrane of the mitochondrion and plays an important role in the electron transport chain, or rather cellular respiration. It is essential for generating energy in cells and organs and for e.g. the functional ability of the heart. In addition, coenzyme Q10 is a coenzyme needed by enzymes to catalyze biochemical reactions in the cell and a strong antioxidant able to regenerate other antioxidants like vitamin C and E.

Alpha lipoic acid is almost as essential as Q10 for fat, carbohydrate and energy metabolism and thus for ATP production. Alpha lipoic acid supports glutathione biosynthesis and has a beneficial effect on the liver function.

Resveratrol is a polyphenol with antioxidant properties (a bioactive substance found in plants) and strengthens the heart, among other things.

Grape seed extract contains OPC (oligomeric proanthocyanid), a powerful protector against free radicals. OPC protects the vascular walls from fragility and maintains their elasticity.

Curcumin is derived from turmeric and is an ingredient of curry. Curcumin has antioxidant properties and a range of other protective functions.

Natural sources:

Coenzym Q10 is found in vegetable oils (especially germ oils), walnuts and almonds (including their oil), meat, eggs, certain types of fish, soybeans, green beans, spinach, cabbage and garlic. Alpha lipoic acid is found in animal products like heart and liver.
